Frustration setting in fast, how about you?
Well up until I found GW I never liked playing computer games. Then I fell in love with the game.
Prophecies was beautiful followed a sensical progression and it was easy to enjoy and know where you went at all times. The quests flowed and missions where easy to get to if you followed the storyline. Factions was full of small quests if you wanted to take the time and do them all but for the most part you could skip some and follow the progression fairly easy. Then...Nightfall comes out I cannot figure out where to go and what to do past the beginning quests to save my life. Last night I spent 2 hours trying to level out so I could get the Digmaster mission, someone told me I had to be lvl 10 before its available...wel that turned out to not be true. Got to 10 and no mission...I went back to all towns and outposts and nothing anywhere...boy I am so frustrated that I wanna scream Same thing coming from Tyria I get all the way to first outpost and cannot figure out what to do next. How do you all feel about this? Am I the only one...could I possibly be that stupid? Oh and I found the guilwiki info but I cannot get those NPCs to give me the quest. PLEASE help. Thanks in advance |

I'm not sure how to really address this situation. I have not had any problems with the quest progression. In fact, taking them all, it seems like I always have too much to do. I think a number of quests depend on your sunspear rank. To easily raise it, just make sure to talk to all sunspear scouts by any res shrine. They give various blessings that give double xp and one promotion point for each enemy killed of a certain type. I have enough promo at the moment, that the scouts wont even give me blessings anymore. I hope this helps.

Follow the primary quests (L key, the top one), and you will unlock/get to missions. If you don't have a primary quest now, go to gw.gamewikis.org and try to find out where you are supposed to go next.

You have to always follow the main quest to advance in the story.
Check your quest log and see what it says you need to do. If you do not have a main quest then try to remember the last NPC you went to that cleared your previous main quest, he will 100% of the time have another quest for you. I still have not played my Elonian character (playing with a Tyrian now) but from what I remember in the NPE (preview event) there is a mission in the starter island that only becomes available to you when you reach a certain rank in sunspear. Reach that rank and then go to the Sunspear Great Hall and talk to the NPC there. Good luck. |

do you have koss and dunkoro yet? You need to finish the 'add dunkoro' quest (from champion's dawn I think) to get the digmaster to give you the quest to get the dervish hero who you need before you can get the dig mission.
If you started right when Nightfall went live there were some broken/missing quests that have since been fixed so you might have to go back and find them. Sorry you're having trouble hope it improves! |

As far as the crossing over from Tyria, I think some people were confused by the quest to meet kormir, which then requires you to complete a different quest (Command Training) as an objective. I don't know if that is what was frustrating you. Please post again if you still have issues.

guildwiki.org is the best source for almost any infro, even on GW, it will tell you every mission and how and when to do it.

I think your problem is that you (like me) are used to a Mission area having a big 'Enter Mission' button on the party bar. This doesn't seem to happen in Nightfall (and it confused the heck out of me, too, until I figured out what was going on).
In Mission areas, you will find an NPC with a green symbol floating over his head (a shield with crossed swords, IIRC). You have to talk to this NPC to start the mission. Hope this was what you needed! |

Digmaster Gatah also offers a primary quest before the mission becomes available, so he will have an exclamation mark before the shield and swords.
